Designed with the Volvo 70’s and the Cup boats sailing teams, the low
friction KBTi blocks are 60 to 70% lighter than any other existing blocks
on the market. Improvements in high modulus ropes now allows to use a
smaller sheave diameter. We have reduced the size of our blocks to suit
the new high tech ropes and minimize weight and size while maintaining
a very low friction coefficient : 2 patents pending.
Lashed through the center, the KBTi block provides the same safety
features in case of over-loading, as the standard K-Blocks.
2 ranges are available, the first is in titanium and is the lightest, but
titanium is not allowed in all classes, so we also produce the KBs
range in stainless steel.
The cheeks are in carbon fibers and the bearing in ceramic or high
strength alloy.
